LOGISTICS MANAGER

Doherty Staffing has partnered with a local trucking and transportation company in their search for a Logistics Manager in St. Cloud, MN. The Logistics Manager is in charge of the implementation of logistics business measures, new guidelines or strategies and adherence to company policies. Hours may vary slightly and will require some after-hours work and some travel. Salary will be determined based on experience and skillset.

JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the logistics department run smoothly. The main responsibilities of the Logistics Manager include handling the details of the logistics department, preparing goals, handling issues, and overseeing the supervision of team members. He/she should have strong leadership and excellent problem-solving skills along with good communication skills. This role requires someone with the ability to think on their feet and make quick decisions with little hesitation.

LOGISTICS MANAGER EXPECTATIONS

• Conduct office management tasks; making sure all credit & carrier standards are properly followed

• Ensure safety regulations are adhered to

• Implement measures to provide motivation for team members

• Oversee customer service and carrier service departments

• Prepare, revise and submit reports, budgets and other documentation

• Dialogue with clientele about customer/carrier service issues or queries

• Communicate information to the departments filtered through management

• Perform training sessions and help conduct meetings

• Implement quality management and regulatory compliance strategies

• Analyze customer/carrier reviews and customer related statistics

LOGISTICS MANAGER REQUIREMENTS

• Business Management or other related degree; and/or work experience in transportation or logistics

• Ability to multitask and coordinate with other departments

• Computer proficiency

• Effectively communicate both verbally and in written form

• Have comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills

• Excellent organizational, project planning, and time management skills

• Be able to work with teams

• Be cordial and professional

• Be innovative

• Have good judgment and decision making skills
