Humera is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Provider Services Coordinator for medical insurance client in Minnetonka. This Call Center supports the Provider Services Center in taking Provider calls and inquiries. (This is different than taking Member calls.) The candidate will be trained on all products, including Commercial, National Accounts, Medicare, Medicaid and SelectCare. Provider Service Coordinators (PSC's) service over 27,000 contracted and non-contracted providers via the phone. The call center is responsible for responding to 500,000 provider phone inquiries and complaints annually, involving all of our client's product (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and SelectCare). The call center represents the first point of contact for providers to inquire or communicate regarding accuracy and timeliness of claims payments, referral procedures, prior authorization procedures, appeal procedures, product information, benefit verification and general plan information. As a critical front-line employee, this position identifies customer/provider trends and responds accordingly. To be successful the Provider Service Coordinator must be able to excel in a fast-paced call center with each call center staff answering an average of 70-100 calls per day.
Required Skills:
  • A Provider Services Coordinator(PSC) must be customer focused and work well under pressure.
  • A PSC must be able to multitask successfully and retain a large amount of knowledge.
  • A PSC must have strong organizational skills and be willing to work in a team environment.

Advancement opportunities are moderate to high. After mastering the position and performing at above standard levels, the PSC could move into a Provider Analyst, Claims Analyst, Recovery Administrator, Quality Administrator, or Operations Specialist position. First-line managerial opportunities would include moving to a role as a Provider Service Center Lead or a Provider Service Center Supervisor. After that, Manager positions may be available in Provider Services, Customer Service, Provider Service Center, Provider Electronic Commerce and Coding and Claims. A technical route would include Business Analyst, Workforce Analyst, positions within Contract Implementation and Electronic Commerce Specialist positions.
