  • Execute day-to-day Headquarters  and Field support to ensure execution of owned brand quality assurance processes and product program objectives are met.
  • Assess, facilitate and resolve quality, safety and regulatory issues quickly and accurately.
  • Provide technical insight, guidance and review to 3rd party test labs for development of product testing protocols needed to fulfill all safety & regulatory requirements as well as Target quality, performance and reliability requirements.
  • Coordinate disposition of product test reports and ensure appropriate follow up with internal and external customers including grouping “like” product for testing, product testing issue resolution, over-rides (technical judgment calls) and release for shipment.
  • Provide appropriate technical direction and guidance to Target team members, as well as external vendor partners
  • Act as a technical liaison between or PSQA Field team, vendor partners and their agents and merchants, product managers, designers, etc.
  • Support Product Design & Development as the subject matter expert in quality design & control, manufacturability and manufacturing & factory execution and quality assurance.
  • Factory Evaluations, Product Inspections and Pre-Production Planning, AQL/RQL, sampling plans—workmanship and measurement, Defect Classification Lists (DCL),  product testing and packaging regulatory requirements
  • Centralize processes and act as a primary contact for field operations, merchants and sourcing personnel for departments of responsibility
  • Perform and oversee failure analysis of products going through safety and recall investigation. 
  • Develop category expertise to become the “go to” person for quality questions concerning assigned categories.  Own Best Method content for these categories.
  • Proactive involvement of the QA team in product development/negotiations including milestone measurements on the calendar to assure proper insertion of QA process.
  • Lead special projects, quality initiatives, large scale and/or complicated product / process resolution.  Will collaborate with internal & external partners such as Merchandising, Sourcing , Product Design, Negotiations, Field teams

Requirements
  • Softlines / Soft Home: Minimum 4 years education in Garment Manufacturing (or applicable Technical Major) at technical college/university or 5 years verified technical experience of manufacturing experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Garment construction & fit.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or product development field a plus
  • Technical understanding of raw materials characteristics, manufacturing processes, and realistic product use for categories assigned.
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of professionals, backgrounds and cultures.
  • Understanding of QA processes
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, ASTM, ANSI, BIFMA, and BSI
  • Knowledge of Corrective Action Plans and Manufacturing Control Plans
  • Hold vendors accountable through CAPA communication and issue escalation
  • Working knowledge of applying the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), statutes, legislations, regulations and industry standards (ie. ASTM) into a retail program
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to communicate process and outcome
  • Ability to simplify complex information
