As a Sr Buyer Owned Brands, you'll take the lead:Project, Process, and Program Management
Provides direction, leadership, and development to Owned Brand CFT. Raises CFT awareness to overall business objectives and aligns priorities with category goals. Establishes key project deliverables, leads CFT strategy discussions, and facilitates brainstorming around product strategy. Drives relationship and communication between CFT and the merchants to ensure clear alignment of priorities.Product or Package Design & Development
Identifies guest-focused product solutions that achieve financial goals and overall brand objectives. Major tasks include market and competitive analysis, creation of product development roadmaps, vendor sourcing strategies, packaging strategy and ongoing product/brand management of Owned Brand portfolio. Provides cross functional insights to inform owned brand strategy within the total category assortment. Partners with internal Product Development and Marketing as well as external vendors to create desired product and packaging.Procurement/Sourcing and Vendor Management
Identifies sourcing or quality needs for existing items. Outlines new product needs for categories. Partners with Vendor Sourcing and Food Safety Quality Assurance teams to identify potential business partners. Contract and Vendor Management
Assesses individual program and vendor risk and establishes appropriate contingency plans. Partners with category team and vendors to create plans to prevent major production disruptions leading to lost sales by understanding vendor capabilities and capacities. Leads and manages negotiations as well as  communication and joint business planning with owned brand vendors to maximize sales and profit. Establishes and implements the appropriate negotiation strategies and ongoing costing dialogue throughout the product lifecycle.Data Analysis
Utilizes both internal and external reporting sources to gain deep understanding of industry and Target performance. Analyzes quantitative and qualitative business results and trends to create product solution strategies to meet financial objectives. Uses analysis to serve as a consultant to the category team on Owned Brand strategy.   Computer Usage
Utilizes standard office systems to execute critical tasks, analyze business, and communicate with CFT. Select Target-specific tools and systems are also trained and utilized.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education Expectations: 4 year degree or equivalent
Job Related Experience: A minimum of 4 years experience
