Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as the Coordinator for our Kids First Program.  This position is part-time (5.5 hours/day during the academic year; 2 hours/day during breaks and summer). As our Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Kids First Center.

Duties associated with this appointment include: (1) participation and enrollment management of children; (2) logistics related to food service; (3) student staff personnel supervision, orientation and evaluation of volunteers; (4) collaborative grant writing; (5) liaison with the Winona Housing and Redevelopment Authority (WHRA); and (6) coordinating office operations. This position works closely with the faculty in the WSU Department of Special Education and the College of Education Dean, particularly in areas of operations, policy development, and implementation; adherence to WSU regulations; monitoring elements of learning spaces, enrichment activities, and ongoing program assessment; staff training/professional development and other assigned duties that support the mission of the Center Programs. You may also be asked to teach 2-3 classes in the SPED program when necessary.

Minimum qualifications for this position are: (1) B.A in Education or related field; (2) E-12, Special Education, pre-K and/or Elementary license, or Montessori certification; (3) eligible for MN licensure; (4) three years of experience licensed and/or accredited afterschool setting and documented work with families; and (5) two years of E-12 classroom teaching experience. Note: The successful candidate must complete a DHS background security check before having contact with children.
