Humera is looking for an HR Generalist for our client in Maple Grove, MN. This individual will be responsible for coordinating HR policies and programs with individual business units across multiple departments with emphasis in employee relations ensuring that the organizations is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The position works closely with the HR leader in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, functions and activities. This is contract assignment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Formulate partnerships and participate in regular meetings across business units to deliver value added service to management and associates that reflect the business objectives of the organization
  • Oversee recruiting by partnering with Talent Acquisition and onboarding for new and replacement candidates
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance while improving manager and associate performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and associates
  • Responsible for coordination and implementation of performance appraisal processes including performance appraisal notification
  • Manage termination process
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements mitigating legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Identify training needs for business units, participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs, and follow-up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Partner with Occupational Health manage leave of absence processes including FMLA and personal and related benefits processes for business units
  • Responsible for standard and ad hoc reporting needs
  • Complete special projects by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information, and fulfilling transactions
  • Assists with the development and review of business unit compensation programs
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned

Education, Skills, & Experience Needed to Perform Position Function
  • Bachelor degree in HR or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-7 years of progressive HR experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with an HRIS system, SAP preferred
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational design, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels
  • Be self-directed and motivated
  • Take initiative to identify and anticipate needs and make recommendations for implementation
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Ability to function independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
