Humera is seeking a Claims Support Specialist to work for our client in Minnetonka, MN. The Claims Support Specialist provides a variety of administrative and technical support to the Claims Processing and Analyst Teams. Incumbents in this position must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work in a high volume and time sensitive environment. Incumbents in this position have extensive contacts with members, providers and other department personnel. This individual will be responsible for date stamping, sorting and directing claims documents and responding to contracted vendors for claims documentation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Claims Support 70%
  • Performs general support functions to include but not limited to: scanning, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing;
  • Completes ongoing file management project involving scanning large volumes of paper files into electronic form in a manner consistent with current computerized claims management system;
  • Drafts and edits business correspondence on behalf of Departmental management or their designee;
  • Receives claims request notices via fax or e-mail
  • enters claims, assigns claim numbers, and documents/mails manual checks
  • Assists in managing, maintaining and distributing departmental reports
  • Assists with file management including obtaining claim documentation
  • Responds to member questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner
  • Communicates and coordinates regularly with others to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of interdepartmental operations and activities
Assists analyst team and claims processing team with overflow claims processing 25%
  • Assists in the data entry of manual claims and processing of claims pending due to subscription holds
  • First point of contact for Subrogation vendor requests; responds to requests for additional claims documentation and account status
  • Pulls manual claims processing documents for analyst review
Participation on various work groups and assists with special projects 5%
  • Participate on various workgroups throughout the organization related to claims processing

Education Level:
  • High School degree, or equivalent. Successful completion of two years of full-time post secondary preferred.
  • Years of experience required: 2 years of customer service experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills,, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Detail oriented/analytical thinking, creative - thinks outside the box
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive/confidential documentation
  • Ability to identify trends and clearly articulates them
  • Self-starter and able to complete tasks in a fast paced environment

Schedule:
    Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
