JOIN US AS A SECURITY ENGINEER - DIGITAL SECURITY ENGINEERING AT TARGETThe Target.com Security Engineering team (SSD team) is looking for highly creative and motivated full stack Engineer to join our efforts in building first-of-its-kind security products and services for the enterprise.  As a member of this innovative agile team you'll be collaborating regularly with Digital, Infrastructure, and other Security groups to develop capabilities required to secure application workloads in dynamic digital environments. In this CI/CD workspace you will be charged with constructing and integrating solutions with many popular Open Source technologies, internally developed applications, native cloud services and COTS software.  Engineers on this team will also be challenged to provide technical and thought leadership in an effort improve development practices, simplify processes and optimize platforms.  To succeed in this role, you need to be courageous, eager to learn, able to work through ambiguity, effectively communicate (written and verbal), problem solve, and foster idea generation.Here's a smattering of guiding principles and the technologies we use:
  • Everything we do is “as-code” in version controlled releases through a continuous integration process
  • Everything we build and maintain is secure by design and agnostic to environment
  • All services are simplified and optimized through automation
  • Some technologies which are critical to the work we do: Kubernetes, Docker, RPMs, Spinnaker, Drone, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, APIs, Micro-Services, StackStorm (st2), Graphite, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Kafka, Artifactory, GitHub, Chef, Terraform, Consul, Vault, InfluxDB, Kapacitor, GoLang, Python, Bash, and Sensu
Preferred Skills and Expertise:
  • Experience with CI/CD such as: Drone and Jenkins
  • Experience with orchestration template technologies such as: Spinnaker, OpenStack Heat, AWS Cloud Formation Templates, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, and Hashicorp Terraform
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as: Chef, Ansible and Consul Template
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages: Golang, Python, Ruby, Groovy, Java, Bash
  • Experience with testing frameworks: ServerSpec, ChefSpec, Selenium, jUnit, Mocha, etc.
  • Experience with building event-driven workflows in automation tools such as: StackStorm (st2), Kapacitor
  • Experience with cloud-based IaaS platforms: AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack
  • Experience with collaborative planning and defect tracking through GitHub
  • Experience with using binary repositories for versioning such as: Artifactory
  • Experience with open-source telemetry solutions such as: Sensu, Graphite, Uchiwa
  • Experience with open-source logging and reporting solutions such as: Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana and Grafana
  • Experience building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient
  • Ability to create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation
Requirements:
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 1 plus year of full stack development or relevant work experience
  • Highly productive coder; self-starter and self-motivated
  • Passion for new and evolving technologies and willing to push their application throughout the company
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both engineers and management/business
  • Personal or professional experience contributing to Open Source projects
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Continuous learner who stays current with new and evolving technologies
