Humera is seeking an Accounting Department Specialist II in the Finance department for our client, a major grocery retail and supply chain company, located in Eden Prairie, MN.
This is a contract to hire opportunity!

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Collects and compiles data for use in the preparation of tax returns and GL account reconciliations
  • Filing of sales/use returns with taxing jurisdictions
  • Prepares and enters journal entries, including period-end clearing entries
  • Prepares sales tax exemption certificates for submission to suppliers
  • Prepares tax account reconciliations on a period basis
  • Researches sales tax rate updates on a monthly basis and communicates changes to impacted locations
  • Provide administrative support for indirect tax audits, appeals, and refund claims
  • Prepares excise tax filings for cigarette and other tobacco products
  • Assist with business licensing requirements

Mandatory requirements:
  • Two or four year degree in accounting or a related field
  • 1 or more years of relevant experience in the preparation of sales/use tax returns and reconciliations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, and Word), proficiency in Oracle or other financial software
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
