Overview

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Director of Business Development - Program Manager II position within the Forum on Workplace Inclusion.

This position develops and implements a strategic and integrated sales plan in conjunction with marketing strategy and content design that promotes and secures sponsors, exhibitors and attendance for multiple event platforms throughout the Forum year. This includes consistent communications with potential sponsors, attendees and exhibitors to develop relationships beneficial to The Forum and the University of St. Thomas. Initial outreach to contacts to be sourced from existing relationships, internal lists, LinkedIn networks and newly agreed upon sources.

This role also supports the relationship between The Forum and the Office for Diversity and consults with the St. Thomas Development office on collaborative efforts between St. Thomas faculty, administration and other leaders to deepen and advance university relationships.

Essential Functions

1. Develop outreach strategy to identify, cultivate and qualify prospects. Specific outreach via email, phone, in person (conference/meeting attendance) and other opportunities to sell and market Forum participation over all delivery platforms.

2. Responsible for locating and building relationships with key leaders, contacts, influencers and budget holders. Ensure development of strategic local, national and global relationships to increase depth of alliances and affiliations for The Forum and by extension the Office for Diversity and the University.

3. Develop strategy for sponsorship, exhibiting and registration for all delivery platforms, including expanded exposure to new markets and business sectors resulting in increased sponsorship, exhibits, attendance, in-kind donations and affiliations/relationships; consult with St. Thomas development office for alignment and collaboration.

4. Create and deliver proposal packages for potential Forum participant organizations designed to meet their needs, maximize Forum revenue and expand relationships over all delivery platforms.

5. Responsible for design of sponsor rates, underwriting items/collateral and packages. Input into exhibit and registration rates. Input into Marketplace exhibit design and content development.

6. Work with marketing director to increase communication and impact with potential participants.

7. Create budget revenue expectations, projections and goals. Review with executive director and business manager.

8. Regular communication updates with executive director and business manager on project status and sales.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five years of experience in program administration/office management.

Preferred qualifications: Experience with business/resource development and strategy.
