QUALITY ENGINEER
Doherty Staffing Solutions has partnered with a custom manufacturer of wood and metal displays in their search for a Quality Engineer in St. Cloud, MN. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with initial screening by Doherty. Hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday with a starting salary of $60,000-$80,000 based on experience and skillset.

QUALITY ENGINEER ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for the development and manufacturing of products.
  • Serve as the primary Quality resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Champion corrective action efforts to permanently eliminate common or repeat defects from the manufacturing process.
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
  • Be the Quality Management Representative for ISO 9001 and other future certification.
  • Write and deliver training materials on quality standards and activities.
  • Be accountable for all PPAP submissions.
  • Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures.
  • Provide technical support to the Engineering and Sales departments.
  • Interface between Engineering/Design and Production on new product launches.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.

QUALITY ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent Associates degree in these fields.
  • 3-5 years job related experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Ability to determine and implement decisions on quality acceptability based on the form, fit and function of the product.
  • Ability to lead and engage personnel in corrective action activities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a quality advocate to manufacturing personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Principles such as Root Cause Analysis, Mistake Proofing, Defect Prevention versus Defect Detection, Inspection Sampling, and 8D.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 and PPAP customer certifications.
