Summary: This position provides production planning, work direction and leadership to all areas of the Bindery and works cooperatively with all areas of Document Services production and production planning functions.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to manage department budget to planned levels.
  • Provide work direction and training to Bindery employees as necessary.
  • Provide leadership to insure all employees conform to documented production processes.
  • Insure our products meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Develop meaningful preventive action on all quality non-conformities.
  • Provide leadership in recruiting and training all full time and temporary employees. In effect, qualify them for the positions they will occupy.
  • Manage for productivity improvement and waste reduction.
  • Be responsible for equipment preventive maintenance and parts inventory.
  • Work with the Production Manager on developing equipment needs and installation plans.
  • Establish and post manning and shift hour assignments based on upcoming workload.
  • Manage the Bindery to result in a safe work environment for our employees. Monitor conformance to all safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and manage the flow of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Conduct supply orders.
  • Complete performance reviews.


Preferred Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous Bindery supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to plan, organize and communicate effectively and professionally.

  • Relate effectively and work respectfully with a diverse work group.
  • Manage multiple job functions simultaneously.
  • Set and meet deadlines.

Essential Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements: This job requires frequent stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting and grasping, the ability to hear clearly at conversation levels, the ability to lift objects of pounds or more routinely and have clear close, peripheral and distance vision. The essential duties must be performed satisfactorily in order for an individual to successfully fulfill the requirements of this position. This position will be occasionally exposed to some hazardous material and conditions. In addition there will also be exposure to extreme temperatures and intense noise.
