Ware is working with a company in Eden Prairie that is looking for a Materials Compliance Engineer for a roughly 4 month contract with the possibility to go longer. The Compliance Engineer is responsible for the compliance and surveillance of fused deposition modeling materials portfolio including: Materials SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and labels generation, FDM products environmental compliance, ROHS, REACH, PROP 65, SVHC lists, chemical waste disposal, wastewater protocols, chemical emissions, medical certifications, food contact approvals, mechanical properties testing and transportation of chemicals.  Additionally provide tactical direction and field support for chemicals compliance discipline for FDM products, stewardship and administration of FDM materials compliance.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as FDM materials compliance expert, owning the FDM materials regulatory compliance program
  • Monitor, interact, report and provide support to local R&D engineers and WW business units; relating to particular aspects of compliance matters, enforcement actions, remedial activities and regulatory affairs
  • Coordinate and participate with local R&D teams on design for compliance to the relevant standards
  • Assess materials regulatory requirements and implement programs to ensure products compliance
  • Generate necessary documentation to support certifications and submit to the certifying laboratory.
  • Support external/internal laboratory testing process to meet relevant certifications.
  • Perform product reviews and respond to inquiries with regard to product compliance
  • Work with functional departments to react to upcoming changes without interruption to certifications
  • Manage materials data information in the various company databases, issue ECO’s, document and manage FDM chemical compliance data
  •  

    Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Material Engineering required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years industry experience in materials compliance and EHS required
  • Prior experience with SDS (Safety Data Sheet) generation and medical certifications required
  • Prior experience in printing industry a plus
  • Familiarity with REACH, NSF, FDA, DOT, CE and UL reporting & certifications
  • Strong written and verbal English language communications skills. Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships on a multi-level basis.
  • Ability to present technical information and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
