Job Description:

IT Internship definition:

Provides support to IT Client Systems, IT Project and IT Network teams for day to day operations. Stages equipment, performs software installs, creates project documents and reviews logs in assistance with IT security audits. Assists IT Analysts, Engineers and Project Managers with tasks required in their areas of work. Works with teams across IT to gain knowledge of other IT disciplines.

Primary Duties and Tasks

  1. Stages client IT equipment for deployment to end users including both hardware and software preparation.
  2. Creates documentation specific to current IT projects including diagrams, workflows and completing project templates.
  3. Reviews system logs as part of security analysis and documents findings. Assists with user provisioning tasks and user access audits.
  4. Directly assists IT personnel across IT groups.

HR Internship Definition: Provides support to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Gaming Enterprise Human Resources Development (HRD) Divisional HR, Employment, Organizational Development, and Training department teams. The HRD Student will work closely with the T&OD teams to enhance and develop departmental offerings.

Primary Duties and Tasks

  1. Assist in the design, and development of new HRD -- training class materials
  2. Assess the use of technology in the current onboarding and orientation process
  3. Submit job posting information to job boards. Research job posting sites for opportunities to post positions. Edit and update existing postings
  4. Develop an online campaign for social media sites. Write a series of tweets, short articles, and advertisements to post information regarding employment opportunities for the Gaming Enterprise and the SMSC's other enterprises, departments, and services
  5. Other duties as assigned

Possible projects include:
1) Training curriculum design and development
Use PowerPoint and Prezi to develop class materials including facilitator slides, participant handouts and promotional materials

2) Increase technology use in onboarding and New Hire Orientation
Assess the current onboarding and New Hire Orientation process and make recommendations for how to better utilize available technology within the current format or an improved format

3) Promote SMSC employment opportunities
Write a social media campaign that will promote employment opportunities with SMSC

Culinary Internship Definition

Learn cooking techniques, as well as the daily operations and work flow of various Gaming Enterprise restaurant kitchens.

Primary Duties and Tasks

  1. Utilize restaurant specific cooking techniques and knife skills according to set performance & safety standards
  2. Assists with daily setup and food preparation for items such as soup, sauces, cold prep
  3. Learns various line stations including broil, fry, sauté, pantry
  4. Completes dishwashing tasks according to established sanitation standards
  5. Maintains cleanliness and order of kitchen equipment and assigned work station
  6. Abides by Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Gaming Enterprise and Food & Beverage department policies and procedures
  7. Other duties as assigned
