Star Tribune has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to successfully manage all aspects of our portfolio of complimentary print and digital news and advertising products.  The goal of these special products is to build consumer audiences and support Star Tribune brand attributes, while creating highly marketable sales opportunities.  This position will be responsible for meeting a specific annual revenue goal.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create successful strategies to grow Star Tribune’s product revenue and readership
  • Work with external partners to activate new contracts and negotiate existing contracts
  • Manage all necessary operational elements of the products including layout, printing, and running ad manifests and financial results
  • Effectively manage each profit & loss and implement contingencies due to financial performance or other factors
  • Continuously evaluate products to identify lifecycle stage and create appropriate action plans to achieve desired goals
  • Provide product reviews and recommendations for improvement to internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive consumer input into the ongoing development of product enhancements or new products

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in product management, ideally in sales or marketing
  • Demonstrated skills in P&L management
  • Good communication, planning, collaborative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong customer service orientation, time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines
