St. Catherine University (St Kate's) seeks a dynamic and committed leader to serve as Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences (SHAS).
The Dean will begin summer 2018. St. Kate's is a nationally recognized liberal arts institution, founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, with a women's college at its core and a distinctive reputation for integrating a foundational liberal arts experience with professional training.
Currently, 36% of students are students of color and 33% are the first in their families to attend university.
The successful candidate will serve as the leader of an outstanding faculty deeply committed to the social justice mission of the University. The Dean will advocate for academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences through the promotion of inclusive excellence and innovation in teaching and scholarship.
The Dean will lead in strategic planning, support for instruction and research, personnel evaluations, preparation and management of budgets, support of external grant writing, curriculum development, and fundraising. The Dean serves on the Deans' Council and works closely with the Provost to shape a culture of enhanced collaboration among schools and colleges.
