HEALTH CARE ANALYTICS SENIOR ANALYST Position DescriptionResponsible for analytics and reporting in support of medical, behavioral health, and pharmaceutical projects, including utilization, population health, disease management, and strategic provider initiatives. Major functional duties include: independently leading projects of moderate scope and complexity, serving as a primary project liaison to other departments or external entities, SQL development, process documentation, quality assurance and analysis of standard, ad hoc and regulatory reporting, and maintaining reports and definitions that support the data needs of UCare staff.·Collaborate in the development of reporting and analytics to support clinical, behavioral health, pharmacy, and health promotions efforts related to utilization analysis, outreach strategies, and operational requirements. Meet with business owners to identify requirements; Use SQL to write queries of higher complexity utilizing UCare's Enterprise Data Warehouse.·Initiate and implement new analyses and reports to support strategic provider relationships. Collaborate with team to identify informational needs; Develop understanding of UCare products, provider services, locations, competitors, etc.; Determine most suitable data and methodologies; Create report data; Provide context and high level analysis.·Support assigned regulatory data submission processes and related audits. Assist with investigation and resolution of data issues; Lead production of specific data deliverables; Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; Perform ad hoc queries of higher complexity. ·Develop and maintain high level expertise in the use of ETG and ACG software. Perform data quality analysis and/or user acceptance testing; Identify and resolve potential issues with final output.·Develop and maintain high level expertise in the use of UCare's Business Intelligence tools, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Management Studio, Business Objects, Mede/Analytics, and other reporting software solutions.·Maintain a thorough understanding of data structure within UCare's internal data systems, including membership, enrollment, claims, providers, and product lines.·Represent the Health Care Economics department in internal committees and work groups.·Other projects and duties as assigned.EducationB.S./B.A. with an emphasis in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Public Health, or another field requiring extensive data analysis. Demonstrated experience in health care analytics, statistical analysis, SQL programming, or regulatory reporting may be considered in lieu of degree.Required ExperienceFour years' experience with health care data analysis, database programming (preferably SQL), or regulatory reporting.Preferred ExperienceExperience using Business Objects, SAS, ACG and ETG a plus.Additional experience with other major areas of health care analytics or reporting (HEDIS, risk adjustment, utilization, predictive modelling, etc.) a plus.THE UCARE DIFFERENCEUCare is proud to be a recognized Star Tribune Top Workplace for the 8th consecutive year.
