JOB PURPOSE * Perform general performance testing, qualification testing and verification testing of electronic components and systems as part of new product development and sustaining efforts within a Research and Development environment.  * The technician will provide on-going support in carrying out protocol testing and engineering support as needed by the R&D team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Applied understanding of circuit analysis techniques for analog and digital applications to a component level. • Trouble-shoot digital and analog circuitry to the component level. • Applied understanding of control system design and recommend optional alternatives. • Applied understanding of microprocessor based circuit designs and able to provide additional solutions. • Creates schematic drawings for designs. • Proficient with a variety of test equipment -- ie. 0-scope, spectrum analyzer, multi-meters, signal generators, frequency counters. • Create documentation, develop and support functional testers. • Ability to generate test report documentation in within a medical documentation structure using MSWord, Excel, Visio and Adobe Acrobat. • Research, specify and order common electrical and mechanical components. • Ability to solder surface mount components including fine pitch QFP packages. • Ability to develop wiring diagrams and wire harnesses.
