PRODUCT SPECIALIST

  

Position Description

This position is responsible to support UCare's portfolio of government and commercial products. Under the guidance of Product Manager(s), lead day-to-day activities, projects and other work to enhance product design and performance. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

·With guidance from the Product Manager(s), develop, implement and modify product action plans based on solid understanding of current product assets, functional capabilities, competitors' market position, strengths/weaknesses and customer needs.

·Analyze and work within and across departments to resolve product problems.

·Assist in the development and review of product filing materials, competitive analyses and other documents.

·Participate on cross-functional teams that guide development and achievement of annual product plans, track product performance and respond to emerging issues.  Participate on Member Advisory Committees and internal work groups and committees involved with operation and performance of UCare products. 

·Collaborate with Product Manager(s) to identify opportunities for competitive product development. Use project management skills and tools to advance project objectives and implement opportunities to improve products.

·Develop and maintain subject matter expertise regarding the structure and operation of UCare's Medicaid, Commercial and Medicare products.

·Develop and maintain a working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations affecting UCare's products.

·Provide project management, business analysis and other support as needed for all products in UCare's portfolio.


Education

Bachelors' degree in business, marketing, health care/public administration or related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Two years' experience in a health plan or health care organization. Strong project management skills and proven ability to work in a matrix environment and participate in cross-functional teams. Strong working knowledge of state and federal health care programs and/or commercial health plan products. Basic understanding of health plan functions, including: operations, marketing/sales, compliance, information systems, data analysis and clinical.

Preferred Experience

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-departmental projects and/or project management certification.
