A role in Buying means being at the forefront of choosing the best in-store and online assortments for one of the country's leading retailers. You'll work with several diverse vendors to achieve the right mix of product. Team members within the Buying organization help determine where to localize while calibrating market positioning and acting as brand managers. You'll own a wide SKU count so that your daily work is varied and stretches your skills.  You'll use both market knowledge, creativity and instinct to make decisions that directly and positively impact both Target guests and fellow team members worldwide.To ensure delivery against the division strategy you will identify the latest trends to develop assortment strategies through CFT partner and guest insights for the category by being the expert on Guest, market and competition. To drive Omni Channel growth, you will plan profitable and locally relevant product assortments by developing a deep understanding of guest shopping behavior and assortment requirements while analyzing competitor assortments. You will influence, negotiate and work with vendors to drive results and uncover potential white spaces.  You will evaluate financial metrics to translate data into actionable strategies. You will leading cross-functional teams to drive category results as well as manage sales and margin dollar performance against plan. You will guide product development in partnership with product design/vendors and sourcing for assigned product category where applicable. You will collaborate with Associate Buyers, Merchandise Specialists, Pricing and Promotion COE, Planning, Site Merchandising and Item COE to manage the development of promotional plans and strategies across channels while reacting to business results and driving site experience for assigned product category. This role supports a high impact seasonal business, one of the largest digital businesses within Target, and partners deeply with design teams and vendors on product development. About you:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Merchandising experience
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills to drive growth in a business
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with CFT
  • Flexibility, resiliency and nimbleness; comfortable working in “grey areas” that are constantly changing
  • Respects, appreciates and is curious about diversity in relation to working with others; committed to developing an inclusive team
