JOIN US AS A MERCHANDISING EXCELLENCE LEAD CONSULTANT Be a part of Merchandising's most innovative and highly visible new team supporting the Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO) and his Chief of Staff. You will use your skills, experience and talents to help drive alignment, balance and discipline across Merchandising as we roll out the portfolio management capability. In this role, you will manage the development and execution of the Quarterly Strategy Process (QSD) which champions a cohesive experience for our guest, and maximizes revenues.  At times, you will find yourself as a designer, architect, builder, and project manager as we iterate and refine this groundbreaking process for Target.   • Drive strategic decision-making and asset alignment across all pyramids and support partners in service to total Target and the guest
  • Manage the Quarterly Strategy Development (QSD) process from start to finish, including the meeting ecosystem, communications, calendars, presentations, and other deliverables
  • Facilitate key meetings, often with SVP/VP level partners, that provide visibility to activities across Target, highlight opportunities for alignment, and enable informed decision-making
  • Proactively surface challenges, gaps, areas of conflict, and potential solutions as you champion a cohesive guest experience that maximizes revenue potential
  • Develop weekly strategic intents and division priorities by analyzing and interpreting multiple qualitative and quantitative data sources
  • Partner with Cross Pyramid Initiative Leads and Merch Ex to support Seasonal recaps and strategy building; ensure integration into QSD
  • Partner with Merch Ex Ops team to prioritize divisions by week; stay up to date on releases, events, and launches; and ensure approaches reflect SVP viewpoints
  • Partner with Marketing and Visual Merchandising to connect Merchandising and Marketing approaches that drive a cohesive blend of ‘art and science'
  • Collaborate with all asset partners to understand and develop asset allocation, answer questions and maintain up to date asset maps and calendars for leaders
  • Understand and build connectivity with Business Planning, Cross Pyramid Initiatives, and Weekly Action Meetings (WAM)
  • Generate compelling presentations and spontaneous, ad hoc materials for executive level audiences that clearly articulate strategy and asset decisions
  • Track all assets and their weekly availability; determine when new assets will come online (e.g. nodes, remodels)
  • Identify ways to integrate financial, guest and market data to support decision-making
  • Stay current on all seasonal activities and cultural/life moments, internally and within the market
Requirements·4 Year Degree or relevant work experience·6+ Years Merchandising Experience·Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative date into actionable recommendations
  • Thrives in ambiguity; comfort with an iterative/agile approach to problem-solving
  • Able to visualize and build new/refined infrastructure (meetings, tools, etc) to support ongoing operations
  • Seasoned project manager with tenure managing complex, cross-pyramid efforts ·Strong relationship building and collaboration skills, including proven track record of managing cross-functional stakeholders ·Strong people management skills, including the ability to influence at all levels, facilitate challenging conversations, and generate win-win solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to create compelling materials to drive alignment, and verbal storytelling/presentation skills to various levels of audience·Track record of success in dealing effectively with complex projects entailing frequent interaction with senior executives.
