Full-Time, Temporary Philosophy Faculty
The Liberal Arts and Science Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a non-tenure track, full time, one-year position in Philosophy. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
This faculty position will include full time teaching of general education philosophy coursework for associate degree students. Also, the faculty member will be responsible for effectively integrating the department's critical skills initiative such as reading, thinking, and writing as part of a disciplinary course and reporting on student progress regularly.
Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to university service. The selected candidate is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community and professional organizations.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to teach Philosophy to diverse, adult student population pursuing certificate and associate degrees in healthcare and other professional programs. A minimum of a Master's degree or ABD in Philosophy is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Ethics/Bioethics and critical skills such as reading, thinking and writing as part of a disciplinary course. Candidates should also have experience teaching in multiple formats (online/hybrid/face-to-face) and to diverse, adult population.
The department is comprised of diverse faculty members, reflecting our diverse student body. The Liberal Arts and Science department contributes to a wide array of Healthcare programs, including Radiography, OTA, PTA, and Nursing. Applicants should be prepared to work collaboratively to support students who are passionate about social justice and plan to use their training to lead and influence.
