The Sr. Logistics Analyst, Transportation Analysis & Optimization - Backhaul, delivers logistics solutions and executes analysis to support optimal transportation decisions for backhaul optimization. The Sr. Logistics Analyst works directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all dimensions of a logistics solution are considered in order to establish financially beneficial asset utilization and supplier routing decisions are executed. This role is responsible for providing solutions that consider the financial and operational impacts to Target; monitors and validates these impacts; uses data to support decision making; and supports implementation.

·Identify and execute analysis to determine most optimal backhaul routing decisions between suppliers and Target.
·Manage process to ensure accurate and timely payment from suppliers
·Establish sound data management tools and processes for backhaul program management, CPU process management and accuracy, and to ensure market competitiveness of rating structure
·Present summary of transportation options that include impacts to transportation expenses and any applicable strategic merchandising considerations.
·Act as liason between transportation, merchandising teams, and supplier partners to initiate solutions around transportation-related concerns.
·Serve as the main point of contact for supplier inquiries and general transportation-related questions throughout new opportunity identification.
·Execute domestic ship point optimization by completing analysis when suppliers change or close ship points to validate current backhaul or renegotiate costing to drive savings.
·Responsible for reporting and tracking all financial impacts to backhaul business
·Validate initial analysis and compares reccomendation to the actual costs.
·Support ad-hoc logistics solutions requests for internal and external partners.
·A Bachelor's degree is required.
·Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience within supply chain, logistics, and/or inventory management in a retail environment are required.
·Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills.
·Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
·Strong ability to plan, manage, and prioritize time/tasks effectively.
·Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative; demonstrates ability to work independently.
·Ability to develop relationships, both internally and externally, and work in a team environment.
·Advanced knowledge of PC Windows based applications (Excel and Word) required.
