Target Gift Registry is a growing and complex business that guests experience in many places—on target.com, in our registry Android and iOS apps, and in stores too! We are looking for a UX Writer to join our design team. Is it you?About youYou are a writer first, but you think strategically and envision impactful ways to solve our guests' problems using the tools of language and communication. You care about experience and constantly see ways to improve everything around you. You're systematic and spot inconsistency quickly. You enjoy falling in love with a problem and iterating your way to an effective solution with a team. You've used, or want to use, guest insights and data to evaluate the impact of your work. You know how to present your ideas and advocate for them. You value writing that is simple, brief, friendly, and helpful.As a member of the product design team, you will work with UX designers, researchers, product owners, engineers, business partners, and—most importantly—our registry guests to develop new ways of supporting their needs. This includes envisioning entirely new experiences, writing for existing experiences, and auditing UX copy for clarity and consistency.Basic Qualifications• A passion for language and excellent writing skills• 5+ years of professional writing experience• Experience writing content for digital products (web or apps)• Working knowledge of UX design principles and patterns• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment• Ability to present, articulate, and defend strategies behind your work• 4-year degree in English or journalism preferred• Portfolio of writing samplesPreferred Qualifications• Experience working in an agile workplace• Familiarity with UI design programs like Sketch• Experience with wireframes
