Join the Minnesota Department of Revenue as leader of the Individual Income Tax and Withholding Division where you will:

  • Guide a talented and motivated group of tax professionals to serve Minnesota Individual and Withholding Tax customers
  • Drive service, education, and outreach through innovation

Minimum Qualifications:

Your background and experience are a fit for this position if you meet ONE of the following requirements:

1) Four (4) years of managerial or supervisor experience that includes managing/supervising professional level employees

2) Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of experience as described above

3) Master's degree plus two (2) years of experience as described above


If you meet at least one of the above, we are also looking for:

Experience managing the performance of diverse individuals, teams, and large groups

Abilities in the principles of leadership sufficient to effectively hire, lead, motivate, develop, foster teamwork, assign work, evaluate, discipline, reward, and manage direct reports

Ability to build collaborative relationships and to influence/negotiate positive outcomes with diverse internal and external stakeholders

Knowledge of Minnesota taxes and the tax system

Experience delivering service to diverse customers

Ability to communicate in a professional manner to clearly and concisely express oneself

Experience negotiating outcomes in situations with diverse stakeholders

Ability to work under pressure, manage time, and demonstrate strong organizational skills

Bachelor or Master's Degree

Leadership experience in a similar environment as described in the job summary

Experience with the enforcement and/or audit of tax laws

Knowledge of state legislative process and policy development

Organizational management skills


Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.


Additional Requirements

All individual income tax filing and payment obligations must be current prior to interviewing for this position.
