Organization Summary: Alpha Human Services, Inc. is a residential and outpatient community corrections treatment program located in the Uptown area of Minneapolis.    Alpha's mission is to provide treatment for sex offenders, their families, and sexual abuse victims; to alleviate the pain and suffering caused by sexual abuse; to reduce or extinguish the occurrence and recurrence of sexual abuse; and to be an educational resource for other agencies, government, and society. 

Alpha has been providing treatment services for over 40 years.  The residential program is licensed and certified by the Minnesota Department of Corrections.  Both programs employ administrative and business office staff, clinical and intake staff as well as support staff.  Clinical staff include:  Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists as well as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors.  Clients are funded by federal, state and county contracts and grants as well as private insurance and client payments.  For more information visit our website at www.alphaservices.org.  

Our current opening is for an Office Manager to fill in for a maternity leave.  After the leave, there will be the strong possibility of continuing work as a Billing Specialist in our Business Office.   

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  Proofing, sending, storing, tracking and billing client quarterly progress evaluations, termination summaries, intakes and correspondence for therapy staff.  Scoring psychological tests, maintaining the therapy group schedule, and room reservation log.  Copying, faxing, filing, shredding, ordering supplies, coordinating service and maintenance of office equipment, and other general office duties.  Maintaining client files including closing files, updating database, and storing of files.  Responding to subpoenas, court orders, and release of information forms concerning current and former clients.  Front desk duties include greeting and signing in clients, verifying insurance, collecting and receipting client co-payments, completing service sheets.  Other duties include managing special billing forms required for  government funding, following up on client past due amounts and writing up payment plans.

Experience and Qualification Requirement

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.  

Experience with medical billing software and electronic health records preferred

Proof reading skills and knowledge of grammar. 

High attention to detail and accuracy with good math skills.

Excellent customer service skills required.  Ability to be calm, respectful, and courteous.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong time management, problem-solving and prioritization skills.

Ability to take initiative and manage competing deadlines.   

Previous office experience especially in a mental health setting. 

Ability to interact effectively with many different people.
