Walser Automotive Group is breaking the mold and defying expectations. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining the business transactions of the organization. You’ll leverage your knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to prepare analyze and complete a thorough review of financial statements. As Staff Account, you will:

  • Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including, bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses
  • Prepare and maintain monthly G/L journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Prepare Sales & Use tax payments
  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices are paid in a timely manner
  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts receivable transactions, work closely with operations department for multiple entities to ensure timely collection of the outstanding receivables  
  • Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes and documenting new procedures
  • Assist in the annual financial audit and preparation of audit work papers
  • Ability to learn multiple accounting software systems
  • Participate in preparation of monthly management reports
  • Partner with business entities to facilitate timely and informed decisions

Skills, Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Strong Excel proficiency required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Proven ability to grasp accounting and finance concepts quickly
  • Energetic team player with the ability to build good working relationships
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Sage accounting software
