GOVERNMENT RELATIONS REGULATORY MATERIALS SPECIALIST Position DescriptionThis position is responsible to write and coordinate regulated Medicare and Medicaid member materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines, and NCQA requirements. Develop, revise and maintain specific policies, procedures and work instructions. As needed, review and submit materials to regulatory agencies. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Write, edit, version and perform quality reviews on Medicare and Medicaid member materials owned by Government Relations. Understand the regulatory and NCQA requirements of each product for development of materials and content accuracy. Apply clear understanding of regulatory requirements and solid editing skills to ensure all materials are compliant.Coordinate with organization-wide subject matter experts and other content contributors on all review of content, and completion of materials owned by Government Relations Regulatory Materials, to ensure all regulatory and operational timelines are met.Understand the development of Medicare Advantage Plan Benefit Packages and the information in chapter 4 of CMS' Medicare Managed Care Manual, including ongoing benefit or materials modification, to ensure materials' accuracy against plan benefits. If requested, serve as the UCare representative on external member materials work groups, including the Minnesota MSHO Materials Workgroup and the Managed Care (State Public Programs) Materials Workgroup, coordinating all needed involvement of other UCare staff to create and review workgroup member materials. Member of internal member materials subgroups. Work collaboratively across departments on any material-related projects.Understand and meet NCQA requirements owned by Government Relations and coordinate across applicable Medicare and Medicaid materials, including those owned by other departments. Complete annual updates. Document and store all artifacts to demonstrate NCQA compliance. As needed, review and submit materials to regulatory agencies. Identify strategies to be used by the organization to streamline the materials review processes, including participating in the work group responsible for reviewing and creating efficiencies in the materials process maps. Develop and review specific policies, procedures and work instructions and, as needed, revise.EducationBachelor's degree preferred; experience with related disciplines and demonstrated capability through previous experience will be considered in lieu of degree.Required ExperienceHealth care or managed care (i.e., Medicare, Medicaid). One year of experience with creation or review of regulated member materials for a managed care organization or health insurance company (e.g., Evidence of Coverage (EOC), Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), Summary of Benefits (SB)).
