The Disability Resource Center at the University of Minnesota—one of the nation’s largest and most progressive disability services offices—has openings for Access Consultants in the Student Access unit.
Access Consultants work with students as well as faculty and staff in academic programs to facilitate access and inclusion in a variety of educational environments. Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate excellent communication skills, creative problem solving, collaboration, resourcefulness, and resilience in their work.
Candidates must have experience working to facilitate access for people with disabilities. Additionally candidates need to demonstrate experience in, and an ongoing commitment to, working effectively with and across diverse communities, including specific experience with one or more of the following identities/communities: people of color, including underrepresented groups and new immigrant populations; American Indians; women; people of various gender and sexual identities and expressions; and first-generation students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Two successful candidates will join a team of talented staff who work both independently and collaboratively to facilitate access for a growing number of students at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
