Description: JOIN US AS A Director - Controls Assurance, Risk & Compliance Operations             About This OpportunityLead the controls assurance team for Legal Affairs, which provides monitoring and testing support to Enterprise Risk, Food, Essentials, Safety and Quality Assurance (FESQA), and Compliance functions across Target.  This position will manage a team of 5 TM's and will have responsibility for Store and Distribution Center testing, compliance program control testing, testing for the enterprise top risks, and other adhoc testing as requested by risk and compliance program teams. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ability to demonstrate and execute the necessary authority to drive legal and regulatory compliance in each of Target's business areas
  2. Influence and guide at various senior leadership levels throughout the enterprise, regular and frequent direct communication with managers, directors, senior directors, and VP level executives
  3. Maintain or establish partnerships with a focus on a shared risk/reward in both ethics and compliance
  4. Deliver results on Target's overall risk and compliance picture throughout every component of the business (HQ, Field, Domestic, International)
  5. Proven skills in leading exempt team members and leaders, developing careers, and empowering team members to operate with a high-level of influence and independence while balancing the need to be a compassionate and genuine partner in order to obtain partnership buy-in and support in our efforts
  6. Ability to effectively lead and drive organizational change and influence such change outside of one's reporting chain
  7. Advanced retail business acumen with excellent problem solving and analytical skills 
  8. Ability to build collaborative partnerships across the enterprise, creating strategic alliances among diverse stakeholders
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to construct professional level documentation and reporting to stand up to both internal and external scrutiny and legal review (audit, regulatory compliance)
  10. Flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and have your client's success and their compliance to legal and regulatory obligations firmly as your balanced focus
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years' overall business experience, including 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience and supervisory experience
  • Retail industry experience
  • General knowledge of risk and compliance
  • Subject matter expert in the area of monitoring and testing
  • Demonstrated ability for collaborating and maintaining relationships with partners within and external to Target
  • Proven leadership skills and experience
  • Ability to identify creative solutions under stress and time pressure, and constantly competing priorities
  • Experience working with senior leadership
  • Strong problem solving, negotiations, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate and innovate in dynamic and changing environments
  • Result-oriented, self-motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic
  • Strong verbal, written and presentations skills
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Masters in relevant field preferred
  • Cross-functional knowledge of retail operations for an international company, preferably Target
