Position Purpose:     

Enterprise Application Architect II:  This position is responsible for the conceptualizing, designing, development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of specific enterprise applications enabling the Cooperative to meet business objectives. This position will work in a team to serve as the primary point of contact between Information Services & Telecommunications (IS&T), the Cooperative business units, and external solution providers. The incumbent ensures compliance of technology solutions with IS&T standards and participation in the full development life cycle. The enterprise applications utilize a variety of computing platforms and technologies. These may include Windows, Linux, zOS/CICS, and UNIX environments. These applications may include both client/server and web-based applications.  This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)-related position, which may involve physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber, related assets or systems.

Enterprise Application Architect III:  This position is responsible for the conceptualizing, designing, development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of specific enterprise applications enabling the Cooperative to meet business objectives. This position will lead project teams and serve as the primary point of contact between Information Services & Telecommunications (IS&T), the Cooperative business units, and external solution providers. The incumbent ensures compliance of technology solutions with IS&T standards and participation in the full development life cycle. The enterprise applications utilize a variety of computing platforms and technologies. These may include Windows, Linux, zOS/CICS, and UNIX environments. These applications may include both client/server and web-based applications. This position works under minimal direction and is responsible to recommend technical strategies.  This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)-related position which may involve physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.

Qualifications:       

Enterprise Application Architect II:  To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of application development and application lifecycles, implementation of applications; knowledge of C#, Visual Basic, .NET, or other procedural language; knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL); Knowledge of relational database concepts. This knowledge is acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or a related field and four years of experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET , ASP.NET with SQL Server, or Oracle databases; or a two-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or a related field and six years of experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET , ASP.NET with SQL Server, or Oracle databases; or a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and eight years of experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET , ASP.NET with SQL Server or Oracle databases. The incumbent must have the ability to manage time, provide estimates of time required to accomplish work, and adapt and pick up on new techniques. The ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills is required. This position must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and travel up to 10% of the time and is required to be on-call, as needed.

Enterprise Application Architect III:  To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have considerable knowledge of application development and application lifecycles, implementation of applications; Structured Query Language (SQL); and knowledge of relational databases. This knowledge is acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or related field, and six years of experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET , ASP.NET with SQL Server, or Oracle databases; or a two-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or related field and eight years of experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET , ASP.NET with SQL Server, or Oracle databases; or a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 10 years of experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET , ASP.NET with SQL Server, or Oracle databases. The incumbent must have the ability to manage time and provide estimates of time required to accomplish work; ability to manage project deadlines; and the ability to adapt, pick up new techniques, and coach and mentor co-workers. The ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills is also required. This position travels up to 10% of the time and is required to be on-call, as needed.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:       

This position requires frequent sitting and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. Some travel is required.
