Description: SENIOR SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYSTSimilar Industry Titles and Key Words: supply chain, supply chain logistics, supply chain optimization, supply chain innovation, senior research analyst, applied research analyst, inventory planning, transportation scheduling, statistical demand forecastingAbout This OpportunityThe Global Supply Chain Design team is responsible for defining Target Supply Chain's future operating model across the full value chain from vendor to guest. This team is responsible for developing long term supply chain strategy by evaluating product flow from vendor to distribution center, across the first mile, middle mile and last mile, with focus on delivery speed, ensuring sufficient capacity for throughput and storage (inventory modeling) in the network and improve operating efficiencies both within 4 walls of distribution center and across the network. A team member in this role will leverage different modeling capabilities such optimization, simulation and data mining skills along with advanced statistical skills and also collaborates with stake holders across product, technology and business teams to transform Target's Supply chain.As a Senior Supply Chain Analyst, you will have these primary responsibilities…
  • Gather and analyze Supply Chain data to understand the current state of Target's supply chain
  • Identify underlying patterns and recommend improvement and changes in the supply chain
  • Develop and/or leverage variety of optimization and simulation models to evaluate different  business opportunities across supply chain
  • Conduct a variety experiments/different scenarios to validate/reject hypothesis and inform appropriate recommendations to stake holders
  • Develop insights through analysis and visualization with data to inform and influence stake holders
  • Works with peer and stake holder across Planning , Design, Supply Chain , Merchandising, Finance and Store Operations to evaluate different business opportunities
  • Fosters a culture of innovation and inclusiveness
Requirements
  • B.S/M.S in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or other related quantitative fields
  • 2+ Years of Experience preferred
  • Experience with SQL is must
  • Familiarity or experience with programming in -one or more of the following
    • R, Python, Spark, Shell script, SAS
  • Working knowledge of optimization and simulation models
  • Working knowledge of applied statistics, Mathematical programming (Deterministic, stochastic, constrained),
  • Experience in supply chain is a plus
  • Experience with supply chain planning preferred
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts
