A role in Store Design means the opportunity to apply your innovative and sustainable architectural design and technical expertise. Your work will ultimately help define the physical experience.  The interactions and connectivity between the physical, digital and human elements Target develops for our guest, will evolve the brand image in store and ultimately support Target's business strategies. You'll interpret program and scope details to integrate them with interior and exterior site design and aesthetic for new stores, remodels and innovation projectsPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Lead Designer, you will
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current industry design trends and best methods
  • Have responsibility for developing, maintaining, and/or coordinating the development of area specific or total store designs and tools (e.g. Prototype) to ensure efficient and successful deployment of new stores, remodels, and special projects. 
  • Coordinate with cross enterprise team members (e.g. Properties, Store Operations, S&P, Visual Merchandising, etc.) to ensure project scopes aligns with the company's strategic direction, schedule (critical path milestones), and budget (total cost of ownership)
  • Utilize design deliverables (e.g. sketches, CAD, 3D imagery, and data) to aid in the development of design proposals that align with new and evolving business strategies
  • Lead and direct designers (external or internal) across teams, projects, and programs through informal and formal plan reviews, training, and mentorship to ensure design intent is maintained as new designs strategies are implemented
 About you:
  • 4 Year accredited degree (interior design or architecture)
  • 6+ Years relevant experience (retail preferred)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and project management skills
  • Proven analytical skills in relation to programming, space allocation, planning and design.
  • Manual drawing skills to develop preliminary solutions for design problems
  • High proficiency in CAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lead design, while thinking strategically and conceptually.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability to coordinate multiple programs, develop and adhere to schedules, prioritize workload, work in a fast paced, challenging and continually evolving environment.
