About us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Right on pace with Target's distinctive retail brand, Target Finance and Accounting are transforming for the better. As so much more than a behind-the-scenes number-cruncher, you will be a truly collaborative partner with a seat at the table. You'll bring your unique point of view, experience and passion for the work to your team and internal clients. Within Accounting and Financial operations, you'll enjoy the interesting challenges of the competitive retail space, and you'll have a 360-degree impact—rather than on just one part of the business. You'll see your contributions come to life in virtually every area of this dynamic enterprise. And you'll grow and be challenged in your career while having a healthy balance with life outside of work

A role in the Finance Operations calls on your skills for quality financial and operational reporting and analytics, ensuring accurate financials while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

As a Freight Payment Process Analyst, you will learn the full end to end freight payment process and support the team by problem solving system issues and thinking critically about how the changes to Target's rapidly evolving supply chain affect the financial statements, vendor partners and the team.  Projects will include: a review and cleanup of system settings within Transportation Manager; ownership of the freight payment relationship between Ratelinx and Target; Analysis of the current carrier support model and presentation of designs for a more efficient method; and learning leading edge robotics tools to automate processes. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

  • B.A/B.S degree
  • 2-4 years of transportation experience
  • Proven technical and data mining skills, using a variety of systems/applications
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data and draw meaningful conclusions and insights
  • High level of curiosity, initiative and the desire to learn end to end processes to drive improvements
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to be resilient and adaptable, working through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced operations environment
