Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Sr. Analyst, S&OP Forecasting will be responsible for delivering a 13 week inbound and outbound operational forecast (distribution and fulfillment centers) for specific lines of business or supply chain nodes that is leveraged as the source of truth for supply chain planning.  The Sr. Analyst will coordinate with and influence key partners in Inventory Management, Finance, Promotions & Pricing COE, GSCL Operations, and Network Planning to  align volume forecasts and throughput capabilities in support of Merchandise, Financial, and Supply Chain goals. This role will identify new analytics needs and fully leverage existing capabilities to deliver world class forecast accuracy.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deliver a world class 13-week inbound/outbound operational volume forecast every week for a specified line of business or portion of the supply chain.
2. Review historical trends, evaluate forecast results, research variance drivers, and prepare detailed reports that provide a deep understanding of the root causes of variances and support continuous improvement.
3. Understand, influence and align upstream merchandise, financial and inventory management goals with supply chain forecasts and capabilities. Work collaboratively to resolve differences when they arise.
4. Envision, design and deploy new analytical solutions (ex. regression, simulation, machine learning) to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Director, S&OP Forecasting.  Works within the Sales and Operations team and has direct working relationships with Global Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Merchandising, Finance, Store Operations, Technology and Enterprise Data and Business Intelligence.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors in math, statistics, physics, computer science, finance, engineering or related analytical field
• Experience in demand planning, production planning or forecasting
• A strong passion for empirical research and problem solving through data and statistical analysis
• Ability to synthesize complex data to make optimal decisions
• High sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement strategies quickly and independently
• Ability to work well in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective relationship managementDESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced degree in math, statistics, physics, operations research, supply chain, finance, computer science or related field
• Proficiency with SQL, R, SAS, Python or similar tools for analyzing relational databases at scale
• Experience in Inventory Management, Supply Chain design, or Sales & Operations Planning
• Experience with statistical program development and deployment for forecasting
