    SPECIAL ED PARAEDUCATORS - Several temporary summer worker Special Ed Paraeducator positions available.

    DATES:  June 18 - July 20, up to 3.5 hours per day - Monday thru Friday, and 1 additional day during the week of June 13 for set up.  Assignments will be made based on student needs. (no school on July 4, 5, & 6)

    Elementary Sites for ESY: Andover Elementary, Oxbow Creek, Adams, Crooked Lake, and University Ave
    Elementary Sites for Targeted Services: Champlin Brooklyn Park Academy, Jefferson, Mississippi, and Rum River
    High School Sites: River Trail LC, Bridges, Champlin Park High, Jackson Middle, Northdale Middle, and Junior Achievement Program
    All Middle Schools: Unique Learners Program
    All Middle Schools - 6th & 7th Grade Targeted Services and Transition Program hours: 7:30 - 11:15 am
    All High Schools - High School Transition Program - Dates: June 18 - June 28, Monday thru Thursday, 7:45 - 11:00 am; 
                                 Anoka Regional High School (Credit Make Up Program) - Dates: June 18 - July 13, Monday thru   
                                 Friday (no school July 4), Hours:  7:45 am - 1:15 pm
    Elementary Sites for Targeted Services: Mississippi: 8:45-12:15 pm;  
                                  Champlin Brooklyn Park Academy, Jefferson, and Rum River - Sped Para hours: 9:00-12:30 pm

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  will be determined by position and may include instruction, personal care (feeding, toileting), lifting, physical assists, behavior management, and bus supervision.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities.  Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.  Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.  Ability to take direction.  Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.  Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.  Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions and people functions, but not limited to:  toileting, feeding and self care procedures, implementing behavioral management program; maintaining student data; working with students who may display aggressive, abusive or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior.

    RATE OF PAY:  New Hires $14.40/hour.;  Current Paras accepting employment in their same category shall be paid at their school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule through their summer employment, including seniority and academic credits.  Paras accepting employment in a different category shall be paid that category’s school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule at the relevant step including seniority and academic credits.
