Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION
This role will heavily influence the future of inventory management at Target through development of new processes to drive inventory positioning, purchasing and inventory movement.  You will work to develop and document inventory management process steps and work directly with product and data teams to ensure future supply chain system functionality supports the processes. You will also drive development of training and resource materials in partnership with L&D and communications.  Long-term, there will be a heavy focus on developing, testing, and iterating on best practices for Inventory Planning and Control functions.  It is critical in this role be to be comfortable moving forward in periods of ambiguity, utilize a test and learn mindset, and work across a broad spectrum of partners to drive progress. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Works with multiple cross-functional partners to build, test, train, and deploy new processes and system capabilities
• Defines process that will drive requirements for inventory management system capabilities to streamline internal and external touchpoints
• Analyzes data and makes recommendations for defect management prioritization and resolution
• Brings perspectives to help navigate through ambiguity
• Encourages the open exchange of information and viewpoints
• Inspires others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction
• Fosters a sense of urgency in to achieve goals and timelines
• Ability to leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles
JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• 4-year degree
• 1 year business experience in either inventory management, supply chain or transportation
• Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills with senior leaders and within a matrixed environment
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to think strategically as well as tactically
• Proficiency in Microsoft office DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:• Retail supply chain or merchandising experience
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and supplier (vendor) community
• Microsoft Visio or equivalent process mapping software
