  • Develop strategies for pursuing the optimal deal through negotiations
  • Develop negotiation strategies and partnerships which support Target's business initiatives and align with the integrity of the Target brand
  • Identify, analyze, and assess vendor profitability in regards to cost negotiations, leveraging, compliance, vendor income, and supply chain impact
  • Lead merchants through the negotiation process, ensuring efficient and ethical negotiation events are conducted
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Merchandising buying practices and negotiation techniques, including purchasing of National brand hard goods
  • Engage with suppliers of the corporation as it relates to negotiations, agreements, and value creation.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree
  • Two-three years previous Retail Merchandising experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong financial background
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Target Hardlines/Essentials & Beauty/Food & Beverage categories preferred
