A role in Store Design means the opportunity to apply your innovative and sustainable architectural/ interior design and technical expertise. Your work will help define the physical experience and evolve the brand image in stores and in support of Target business strategies. You'll interpret program and scope details to integrate them with the site design and aesthetic, including new stores inside and out, exteriors and interiors, small flex formats, remodels and innovation projects. As a Designer, with general direction, you'll assume responsibility for design, approval, coordination, and implementation for all projects assigned with general directions. Projects may include new stores, remodels, special assignments, quality assurances checks, and/or prototype updates. You will design, produce, and document Feasibility, Schematic, and Design Development documents for all projects; as well as manage assigned projects from conception through the construction and implementation phases. Working cross functionally with construction, architecture, engineering, merchandising, marketing and finance, and other Target Properties team members, you will facilitate the development of project scope, schedule milestones and cost estimates. In this role, a strong understanding and advocacy of the Target Brand and Store Design Aesthetic is essential. Using your skills and talents, you will create and communicate project details throughout the project lifecycle. You will create and maintain accurate numerical data on all projects and have a general understanding of financial impacts of the business. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.About you:
  • 4 Year accredited degree (interior design or architecture)
  • Retail design experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in relation to programming, space allocation and planning.
  • Manual drawing skills to develop preliminary solutions to design problems, individually or in a team environment.
  • High proficiency in CAD or Microstation, 3D rendering applications and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work well with others, while thinking strategically and conceptually.
  • Self-motivated and high level of accountability to coordinate multiple projects, develop and adhere to schedules, prioritize workload, work in a fast paced, challenging and continually evolving environment.
