    Assistant Principal of Elementary Student Conduct and Discipline
    Full Time 12 months

    Assistant Principal of Elementary Student Conduct and Discipline will provide leadership and coordination for planning, implementation, and assessment of programming related to improvements in providing a safe, disciplined learning environment with emphasis on positive school climate.
    The position will focus on building an academics-focused culture of achievement and will oversee progress toward our student behavior goals, manage consequence and discipline systems, and support the Principal/District to lead staff in implementing student discipline; respond directly to student discipline issues; enforce and apply the district’s policy regarding the maintenance of discipline and attendance within the school.

    Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
    Proactively plan and execute systems to drive positive student behavior and create an academics-focused culture of achievement.
    Assist in developing and coordinating District and community resources to provide a safe, disciplined learning environment.
    Assist in developing and coordinating District and community resources to provide discipline prevention and intervention services and resources to schools.
    Preside over, coordinate, and represent school administration in the student discipline process.
    Compile and analyze District, State, and Federal discipline data, summaries, and trends to assist in developing responsive prevention and intervention strategies.
    Advise parents, administrators and other staff regarding student discipline.
    Identify resources, models and best practices for improving student discipline and school climate.
    Assist and facilitate school staff in implementing applicable resources and models.
    Provide staff development on student discipline procedures, best practices, policy, and legal requirements.
    Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
    License:  Requires Current MN Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal or K-12 Principal License.
    Evidence of successful teaching experience, with supervisory or coordinating experience preferred.  Effective oral and written communication skills.  Knowledge of trends in public education and ability to convey and interpret them to staff.  Excellent organizational and coordinating skills.  Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents/guardians, and community.  Successful experience in working with diverse populations.
    Extensive knowledge of the District Student Code of Conduct.  Knowledge and understanding of the management of higher education student conduct systems and policies.  Ability to conduct investigations.  Knowledge of crisis intervention and advocacy principles and practices.  Ability to work with highly complex and difficult student and family situations.  Ability to establish and implement short-and-long range goals, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.  Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.  Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.  Ability to evaluate, make recommendations for change.

    Salary: $99,258 - 115,483, DOQ, plus an excellent flex benefits package. 

    Start Date:  7/1/18.
