As a Supervisory Financial Administrative Specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Debt Management Center, St. Paul, MN you will manage a staff providing services to the Debt Management Center's (DMC) customers, Veteran's Benefits Administration (VBA), Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) and National Cemetery Administration (NCA).
Supervise a staff of over 15 professional and technical employees ranging from grades GS-04 to GS-12, providing services to the Debt Management Center's (DMC) customers
Assist senior financial mangers responsible for maintaining an entire accounts receivable program for VA characterized by a number of operating accounting systems and related programs
Interpret and assess the impact of new and revised Congressional legislation on DMC operations.
Assist senior management officials by providing accounts receivable management, transaction accounting advice and policy determination required to make sound management decisions and establish organizational goals.
Develop and prepare policies and guidelines and to provide briefings on controversial or complex topics to organizations within Federal or private sectors.
Provide expert interpretation of accounting and financial reports, statements and other financial data to program mangers.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
