The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and mentoring our Minnesota sales team.
Additional responsibilities include:
Developing sales plans
Actively directing the sales-force’s management of major accounts
Maintaining a presence as Rocket Industrial’s management representative at major accounts
Recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new sales people
Meeting key accounts with sales people
Developing new business development strategies
Ensuring leads are followed up and followed through on in a professional and timely way
Regularly meeting with sales staff to share successes, introduce new products and corporate initiatives
Help in managing account assignments and territory development
Setting sales quotas and goals with the sales team
Ensuring the branch achieves their sales goals
Helping to lead potential acquisitions in the area
Evaluating the competition and developing competitive successful market strategies
Managing and if necessary disciplining sales employees
Development of creative compensation plans
Leading and promoting the Rocket Industrial process and culture
Regularly meeting with vendors
Helping to lead the region’s vendor strategy
The manager has the ability to positively impact the entire company by meeting quotas and goals, consistent sales growth, improving margins, inbound freight optimization, establishing a capable and trained sales force, and receiving positive sales evaluations.
The company, headquartered in Wausau, Wisconsin, was founded by Ray and Marie Goldbach. The couple also founded Marathon Cheese Corporation. In total, Marathon Cheese, Rocket Industrial, and CleanFreak.com - a subsidiary of Rocket that specializes in selling professional cleaning supplies - employ well over a thousand people nationwide.
Our ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of sales experience selling industrial products to manufacturers. Must have a proven record of success, the ability to build strong trusting customer relationships, be a hard worker who is conscientious. The candidate should be able to work independently, but within the plan and strategy set forth by the company leadership. Should have excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills, be competent with multi-tasking and problem solving, strategic thinking, and possess the desire to succeed.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required
- Five plus years Sales experience
- Excellent communication and consensus building
- Excellent training and mentoring skills
- Ability and desire to follow up and follow through
- Experience in distribution preferred but not required
- Experience in packaging preferred but not required
- Understands math concepts
- Requires the ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively
- Analyze work under time constraints
- Analyze problems, propose solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions and follow up with feedback where appropriate
- Excellent leadership skills
- Sourcing: Finding products and choosing between vendor options
- Quoting: Setting end-user margins
- Vendor Negotiation: Reducing costs, reducing minimum order amount, reducing the amount required to receive freight pre-paid
- Inventory: Determine appropriate stock levels for products
