Position Summary: Pro Staff is currently seeking a Safety and Loss Control Speciliast to provide EHS service, advice, direction, and leadership to a leading Medical Device company. In this role, the  EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementation of companies EHS management system and requirements at a plant level with all department leaders. Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!  Duties and Responsibilities: Performs facility level baseline risk assessment to determine proper priority improvement opportunities.  Develops, reviews, and revises the EHS management system, including guidelines and procedures to ensure that they are established and effectively implemented.  Monitors and audits compliance to EHS management system requirements; recommend corrective action for instances of non-compliance, track effective closure of action items.  Prepares and submits required EHS daily, weekly and monthly reports to internal, corporate and external sources.  Supports investigations for all incidents and accidents on-site and ensure timely completion of corrective actions. Oversee and update incident reporting and investigation system based on effective cause/effect analysis with involvement and empowerment of front line employees to change culture from reactive to preventive and ultimately predictive.  Manages and conducts, when required, EHS training including new hire orientation, on-going EHS training, specialized EHS training (i.e. forklift) and manager leadership expectations.  Facilitates the EHS playbook implementation and maintenance.  Identifies and manages environmental hazards such as noise, toxic agents, waste management, etc., and ensures appropriate actions are taken to control and mitigate potential exposure.  Maintain records related to Federal EPA, Federal OSHA, State Agencies.  Partners with Maintenance on facility energy treasure hunt process and drive continuous improvement in energy/water use reduction.    Skills and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in EHS from a recognized institution and experience in project, construction and/or industrial EHS fields  3+ years experience with increasing responsibilities in a manufacturing, building trades and/or construction work environment  Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills  Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations  Knowledge of corporate, federal and state EHS policies, rules, and standards
