Description: Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.The Lead Product Owner represents the “voice of the customer” for all stakeholders by maintaining and prioritizing the backlog to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all customers.  The Item Services API team is responsible for an in-house enterprise item API platform that serves item and content data across all channels (stores, web and apps). The platform helps Target maintain a rapid pace of modernization, improving the ability to deliver business results, and empowers other software product teams across Target to move at a much faster pace. As a Lead Product Owner for Item Services, you will work in the product model and partner to develop a ­­­comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product.  You will use your experience to identify and implement Item API enterprise strategies and tools.  You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as API consumer feedback, to assess value, develop future use cases and prioritize the direction of the product.  You will be the “voice of the product” to all key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful.  You will develop and actively maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with 1-2 years in a product role (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate clear communication between business and engineering software product teams
  • An understanding of software APIs or experience using APIs in context of software products
  • Demonstrated competency for the technical and data aspects of APIs
  • Lead, manage and collaborate with cross-functional software product teams, business partners and manage key stakeholder requirements
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
  • Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Proven track record in performing well in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree required, MIS, Computer Science or commensurate experience preferred.
