The Minneapolis VA Health Care System, a major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Minnesota, is recruiting for an Interventional Cardiologist for the Cardiology section of the Primary Care Patient Service Line. We are seeking a Board Certified interventional cardiologist with at least 8 years staff experience. Procedural experience should include complex coronary and peripheral interventions, percutaneous ventricular assist device placement, closure of PFO, TAVR, MitraClips and LAA closure devices. The candidate should be willing to do general cardiology activities, including consults, regular TTE/TEE and inpatient medical ward service and should have experience with advanced cardiac imaging with CTA. Proven academic excellence is mandatory, as demonstrated by current publications in peer-reviewed Journals as well as experience with educating medical students at a major University Hospital during formal class conditions. Requirements include board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Hypertension, Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Therapy. The candidate must be Level 2 trained in CT angiography, board certified in Echocardiography and show experience in TEE including 3D imaging. Proven leadership in directing a high volume cath lab is desirable.
