A role in Network Planning and Global Intelligence means creating industry leading intelligence solutions to drive best in class omnichannel guest experiences at the lowest cost to Target.  You might focus on enabling the future transportation operating model, optimizing inventory management, driving topology planning or leveraging deep business insights and analytics to propel Target's supply chain.  As a network steward, we create forecasts, design inventory optimization strategies and leverage technology to ensure our inventory is available at the right time, in the right places and quantity to meet the needs of our guests, stores and operational goals.  Super-powered first and foremost by our people, and supported by robust process and technology, we are a team of data-focused, curious minds who love to solve hard problems to enable a dynamic, fast paced Supply Chain network.  As a Sr. Supply Chain Analyst you will support new capabilities within Global Supply Chain and Logistics, providing analytics and quantitative modeling expertise to the Target GSCL Transportation Strategy team.  This is an opportunity to show analytics innovation and creativity within a dynamic space.  You will be challenged to apply your expertise in mathematical modeling and business sense to support cutting-edge initiatives within Target's supply chain. Primary responsibilities for this role may include: 
  • Point person for Transportation Strategy data pull requests to EDABI - consult with Transportation Strategy stakeholders to develop GSCL/EDABI intake form requests; provide subject matter expertise to identify gaps and quality issues in output
  • Perform ad-hoc data analyses (not production code) to support the Transportation Strategy team
  • Produce weekly metrics reports for the FSSD program
  • Ensure weekly FSSD forecasts are published to internal stakeholders and provide variance reporting
  • Build optimization, simulation, and statistical models under guidance
  • Build performance dashboards to support the Transportation Strategy team
  • Build connections within EDABI to enable scaling and automation of workAbout you:
  • B.S./M.S. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or other related quantitative field 
  • 3+ relevant experience with M.S., 5 years relevant experience with B.S. 
  • Familiarity with programming in R or Python, SQL 
  • Knowledge and experience in at least some of core Operations Research techniques: optimization, simulation, advanced statistics, statistical modeling.  Demonstrated eagerness to grow analytical skillset  
  • Demonstrated ability to connect business problems to mathematical methods  
  • Ability to adjust communication style based upon level of audience's technical expertise 
  • Attitude of continuous learning and intellectual curiosity 
  • Supply chain experience (HQ or DC) is a major plus but not required
