    Cooking Instructors - Community School Program Instructors

    Community Schools programs provides a variety of enrichment, recreational, and athletic activities for children and adults in the areas of aquatics, adult literacy, and learning readiness, and also coordinates free or low-cost rental of school facilities. The program is located in all elementary and middle schools throughout the District.

    Date & Hours: October 2018 thru May 2019.  Classes could be after school, evenings or on weekends.  Each school can set up classes that work for the instriuctor and the school. 

    Locations:  Anoka Middle, Coon Rapids Middle, Jackson Middle, Northdale Middle, Oak View Middle, Roosevelt Middle

    Duties include:  Cooking Instructors - responsible for class planning.  Food prep and cooking of food during classes with students.  Provide student safety and program presentation.  Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Relevant work experience and previous experience with community school activities.  Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.  Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.  Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.

    Preferred Qualifications:  Previous knowledge of cooking instructing preferred.  Ability to supervise 10 to 20 students preferred.  Relevant work experience and previous experience with community school activities preferred.  Advanced training or college degree preferred for instructor positions preferred.  Previous experience working with students of all ages preferred.

    Rate of Pay:  $16.25/hour.

    Start Date:  October 2018
