The VISN 23 Regional Tele-ICU system serves multiple VA Medical Centers throughout the Midwest and West serving a range of hospitals from urban to rural, and academic to non-academic sites. The Center of Operations resides within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, a teaching hospital providing a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology, as well as education and research. Additional physician sub-hubs are located in VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in Las Vegas, NV (soon to open), Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Chicago, IL, and Iowa City VA Health Care System in Iowa City, IA.

The VA Midwest Health Care Network (VISN 23) has opportunities for the intermittent position of Tele-Intensivist. This position involves
attending in our Tele-ICU facilities. The VISN 23 Tele-ICU program serves 16 VA medical centers in 10 states. The program is expanding to cover an additional 4 VA medical centers in 4 additional states as well as a collaboration with the Air Force/DOD. Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care by an ABMS Board of Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology, or Emergency Medicine. Active or recent ICU experience in a graduate medical academic setting is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have an established and documented record of outstanding clinical, interpersonal, customer-service, communication and teaching skills, preferably in both the physical and virtual ICU setting.
