Management and Program Analyst
The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a Management and Program Analyst in the Quality Management Office. The primary duty station is located on the Minneapolis, MN campus. Travel may be required to sites located within the Minneapolis VAHCS area of responsibility (CBOC's and other locations where patients are seen). This position is in the Quality, Safety, Value (QSV) Office, Office of the Medical Center Director at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.
The primary purpose of the position is to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes necessary to facilitate process improvement efforts. Health Informatics is a discipline at the intersection of information science, healthcare, and biomedical research. Health Informatics optimizes the usability, acquisition and processing of health-related information, using resources and tools that include people and processes; information and knowledge; algorithms and data; hardware and software.
He/she is responsible for identifying and supporting computerization needs and data analysis for the QSV Office. He/she ensures accurate transfer of data, and data/statistical analysis to assist with decision-making and work flow design. He/she can identify, define, research, and analyze a variety of problems, questions, or conditions using data mining and statistical analysis. He/she has knowledge of concepts, theories, designs and interactions of database systems, knowledge of analytical techniques, and knowledge of IT processes for data base management to provide guidance and assistance with database policies, procedures, standards and authorized system design approaches
