SENIOR DESIGNER Position DescriptionThis position is responsible to lead the graphic design team, ensuring every communication touchpoint articulates UCare's brand look and feel. Blend tactical, strategy and management skills to: implement and maintain organizational graphic standards in print, digital, presentations and other channels; develop brand templates in a variety of mediums; ensure consistent application of brand standards internally and with external agencies and business partners; provide technical expertise in the area of graphic design and desktop publishing using current technology; and maintain and organize asset library of photos, iconography, infographics, fonts and other key design elements. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead a high-performing team of graphic designers to produce communications reinforcing the brand signature and visual tone, with a polished, professional finish.Monitor designer workload to meet stakeholder deadlines.Collaborate across organization and with Product Marketing Matrix Teams and key business owners to promote UCare-branded external member, prospect, provider, and media communications for key stakeholders. This includes ability to use desktop software tools to design/create various marketing collateral and understanding of user experience (UX) in creating their digital counterparts.Secure clear understanding of the objective and demographics of the campaign to ensure designs are targeted to appropriate audience and infuse brand within campaigns when there's a foundational connection. Generate ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services through aesthetic direction combining colors, fonts and layouts within preset brand standards. Apply concepts so they support integrated campaign efforts extending into modern-day marketing tactics such as lead-gen and nurture campaigns, retargeting efforts and primary and secondary conversion tactics online. Provide assistance with selection, preparation, technological support of developing brand templates for forms, letters, brochures, presentations, and development of graphics to fit the medium.Direct and execute all aspects of photo shoots on selected projects.Partner with external ad agency and creative vendors to ensure brand integrity and continuity. Maintain UCare's graphic brand standards for print, digital, presentations and other communication materials.Manage asset library of photos, icons, infographics, fonts, design templates and other key design elements.Provide expertise regarding multimedia presentations and use of technology to enhance presentations. This includes the development and implementation of communication materials to support the organizational goals and objectives.Adhere to the required member material process mapping system, and fulfill business owner and marketing communications roles as outlined in the process. Support the communications function through continuous improvement of processes to best serve the customer.Remain current in graphics industry trends as they relate to the operations of the department, its projects and programs.
EducationBachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing or related field; demonstrated work experience along with a design portfolio may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required ExperienceTen years of job experience designing/creating print and digital materials. Five years staff management or lead designer experience. Proficiency with desktop publishing programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Adobe Illustrator CC 2017, Adobe Photoshop CC 2017, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Preferred ExperienceExperience in and understanding of health care industry and managed care. Familiarity with visual rebranding implementations. Experience with creating graphics for the web, CSS styles and HTML5.
